2020 HCHS Special Events
The Museum opens for the 2020 season on May 23rd. Hours are noon to 4 PM.
This 4th of July weekend, why not step inside the Historical Society Museum and take in three whole floors filled with Copper Country history.
Then step back outside and take a ride on our train and see our outdoor exhibits too. Both the train and the museum will be open from
noon until 4 PM on July 3rd, 4th and 5th.
Visiting your Michigan Tech student for Family Weekend? Stop by for a tour. Take in a train ride and visit the museum to experience
three floors full of Copper Country history. We'll be open from noon until 4, October 9th through the 11th.
Join Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Depot and then board the Santa Train for a ride around our historic site. Come out and make some holiday memories
for your family! Rides are $3 for adults and $1 for children. Light refreshments provided. Model Train room open too.
2020 Hours of Operation
Museum and Train (Seasonal - 2020 Season opens May 23rd)
During the season, the Museum is open daily from noon to 4. The train is operated during the same hours but on weekends only.
Research Room (Open All Year)
to the impact of the COVID-19 virus, the Historical Society is closing the Research Room starting Monday March 23rd at least thru the end of the month. We will continue to
update our website as the situation progresses.
The Research Room is located in the lower level of the HCHS Heritage Center at the corner of 1st St. and N. Avenue in Lake Linden. Here you'll find newspapers,
books and other materials to aid in your research of local history and local families. The Research Room is open to the public
all year long. Hours are Monday & Friday 9:30 AM to 4 PM, and Wednesdays from 10 AM to 4 PM (except over Christmas & New Years).
The Historical Society is an all volunteer organization, and because of this we may not always be open during the posted hours.
